Spa made it three away games in a row and were unlucky not to come away with something after a spirited performance against Dr. Crokes. Dr. Crokes opened the scoring, but Spa responded quickly through Eric Corcoran to level matters. Playing against a strong wind in the first half, Spa showed great resilience in defence, with Mark Corkery outstanding at full back and Adam Moynihan commanding at centre back. Their efforts ensured the sides went in level at half-time, 0-4 to 0-4.

Conditions remained difficult in the second half, and the contest stayed tight throughout. Spa continued to defend well with Brendan McHugh in particular to the fore. A late goal from Eric Corcoran brought Spa back within two points, giving them real hope of snatching a result. However, two second-half goals from Dr. Crokes ultimately proved decisive, as they held on for the win on a score of 2-7 to 1-8.

Despite the result, this was another spirited display from a very talented group. Some handling errors at key moments will be a source of frustration, but overall it was a very positive performance with plenty to build on.
