The monthly meeting of the Spa GAA club will be held at The Clubhouse on next Monday night  I2th May 8-3Opm.
all committee members are requested to attend.
 
All Ireland U-2I final--,
Congrats to Michael oDonoghue who turned in a most impressive performance with the Kerry U-2I team which defeated Kildare in Saturday night,s All-Ireland final at Thurles contributing two well taken goals which proved decisive to the eventual outcome.
Congratulations are also extended to Cormac Cronin  who was a member of the Kerry AIB team which won the All-Ireland  Inter-Firm competition recently and to Katie Gleeson and Mairead Finnegan who were members of the Kerry Ladie,s football team defeated by Cork in Sunday,s National League final.
Recovery--Best Wishes for a speedy recovery is extended to Spa senior player Eoin Cronin who sustained a facial injury during the course of a recent training session,Eoin was a member of the Spa Set Dancing group which won a fifth All - Ireland Set Dancing title in-a row, at the recent All-Ireland Scor finals,
 
Party-Time on May 23rd--
Following on the success of their recent Partytime Teen Disco at the Ross Golf Complex Spa ,Legion and Dr Crokes GAa clubs are again combining to  organise a further such event on May 23rd,
Much credit is due to those three clubs who have by way of this initiative have set out to combat the spiralling problem of alcohol abuse by organising  recreation for their I5 to I7 year old members in an alcohol free environment and this initiative deserves the support of all club members by ensuring a good attendance of their younger members at this event.

East Kerry Junior League Rathmore 2-IO Spa O-2
Spa junior team suffered their first defeat of the season in the East kerry league when they were comprehensively defeated by Rathmore at Rathmore on Tuesday evening, Spa matched their opponents during most of the opening half trailing by a single point  after twenty five  minutes with Brendan Doolan and Tomas Lynch  contributing O-I each,
A Rathmore goal shortly before the break appeared to open the floodgates and thereafter the home side were very much  in control.

Rowing News--
With less than seven weeks to the annual Killarney Regatta on July 28th the good news for the local rowing fraternity is that Commercial rowing club which had been defunct for a period of ten years is now back  in action.
With a new Clubhouse, and a fully array of equipment including new racing boats and rowing machines training is now in full swing each evening and at weekends at Ross Castle. under expert  coach Jimmy Doyle,
Commercial RC founded in I87O has a long association with the local area and names  which readily come to  mind during the I93O-4O era include Neilus oLeary Ballaugh,Danny Healy Lissivigeen, Pat and Archie Cronin The Island,Jimmy Gleeson and Tim mcCarthy Tiernabould School now all deceased RIP.
The I96O-7O era marked the coming of a younger generation of oarsmen and oarswomen,which included John Joe and Steve Healy, Dermot oDonoghue, Donie ,Frank,Paudie and Seanie Moynihan,Billy Morris,Paddy Casey,Tom oSullivan,Humprehy Foley,Denny and Connie Doolan Johnny Batt Cronin,Cait oSullivanDArcy,Bernie Moynihan -Lenihan,Mary oSullivan, and Breda Fenton -Morris,Men and women wishing to become involved in rowing for the club are advised to contact Jimmy Doyle at O64-39856,,
