This will bring you to the site showing the webcast, produced and filmed by Shane Cronin, who also plays football for Spa on the U14 team.

30/08/2010    Killarney’s 225th Annual Regatta
Favourable weather condition, a large attendance and some excellent racing all contributed to the success of Killarney’s 225th annual regatta at O Mahoney’s Point on Sunday with Muckross emerging as overall winners to take the Points Cup.

Congrats to the athletes from Spa/Muckross who had good innings at the National Community Games held in Athlone.
The first weekend, action saw the swimmers in action with Boys Sean Cremin U10, Donal OSullivan U-I2, Girls Treasa OSullivan U-8 and Áine OSullivan U-I4 all turning in fine performances with Treasa taking Bronze.
The second weekend saw James Flavin compete in the U-I2 Long Puck finishing in 6th place in the final. On Sunday morning Aodhán Burns competed with the Kerry Boys team in the U-16 Marathon bringing home Gold medals. The U-I6 team of Laura McLarnon, Elaine Courtney, Niamh Hickey, Shane Cronin, Kevin OSullivan, and Micheal Burns had a good run to clinch Bronze medals. The club wish to thank Donal Doherty for his contribution to the preparation of the athletes.

Congrats to our former charismatic club secretary Assumpta O’Donoghue who celebrated a special birthday with family and friends in The Brehon on Friday night.


30/08/2010    Camogie Re-Union
Congrats to Mary O’Connor, the Moynihan sisters Cáit and Mary D’Arcy and Bernie Lenihan who were members of the all conquering Killarney Camogie team of I968-69 who were honoured at a recent re-union of Kerry Camogie stars of that era. This team won the Kerry championship in 1968 and 1969 and Cáit went on to represent both Kerry and Munster and the tradition continued with her son Brian winning an U-2I All-Ireland with Kerry,

The GAA Cúl Camps held in the Spa complex during early August proved to be hugely successful for the club members in attendance.
